This joke is kind of specific and dated but I think it’s funny nonetheless :
In 1982, right before Herschel Walker left Athens, GA to go to the Heisman Trophy Ceremony in New York City, he went to a local fabric shop to buy some cloth for a suit. He found a cloth he liked so much that he bought the stores stock of it and took it to a local tailor. Herschel asked the tailor “How many suits can you make out of this cloth?” The tailor said “Well Herschel, I could probably make about 2 suits with this much cloth.” Herschel thought that was a low estimate so he kept the cloth and took it with him to New York. He went to the best tailor in Manhattan and said “I’m in town for the Heisman Trophy Ceremony and wanted to get some fine suits made out of this cloth. How many suits could you make me with it?” The tailor looked at how much cloth Herschel had and said “Well, I could probably make 5 suits with it.” Herschel said “Wow, that’s great! The tailor in Athens said he could only make 2 suits with it.” The New York tailor plainly told Herschel “Boy, you ain’t as big a nigger up here as you are down there.”
